Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
The LEED rating system was created by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to define and measure “green buildings”. The LEED exams are now administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) to test the professional’s knowledge of the USGBC’s LEED rating system. It is important to employers and clients that their interior designer be competent and educated in the green building marketplace.
The Rocky Mountain Chapter has LEED study guides available to IIDA Members for a short term loan. If you are interested in checking out a study guide or getting involved in a local study group please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sustainable Design Education Fund
The establishment of the Sustainable Design Education Fund is an important initiative through the IIDA Foundation. Created through the generosity of Maharam , this fund serves as a vehicle to advance the awareness and knowledge on the topic of sustainable design.
IIDA Professional and Associate Members who take and pass the LEED Accreditation Exam may apply for consideration for tuition reimbursement.
