Julio

 

JULIO BRAGA, FIIDA, LEED AP

Julio Braga was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received his Diploma in Architecture from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1987. In the early 1990’s, Julio moved to New York City where he joined the retail design firm, WalkerGroup/CNI. He was named Design Director of the firm’s Environmental Branding Studio in 1996. In 1999, he established Braga Oris Associates, a multidisciplinary design studio.

In 2005, Julio joined IA Interior Architects as Design Director / Principal of the New York office. During his tenure at IA, he has been key to the growth and development of the New York office; winning major international and domestic projects, and notable design awards for the firm. Julio works with a diverse range of clients, including: global technology giants, international financialservices firms, real estate investment companies, and communication consultancies. Sharply efficient planning, a restrained design approach, and fluency in the language of environmental branding are characteristics that define his work. He oversees New York’s design staff and currently chairs IA’s firm-wide Design Roundtable.

Julio is a Vice-President of IIDA’s International Board of Directors, and recently completed a term as its President. He is also an IIDA Fellow, and is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.

 

Katie

 

Katie Hauser, IIDA, NCIDQ, LEED AP

Katie is a Kent State University (Kent, OH) graduate from their CIDA accredited Interior Design program. Beginning in the world of office furniture and corporate design at an Akron, OH area furniture dealer, Hauser embarked on not only her design career but her IIDA career as well. Immersing herself in the Cleveland Akron City Center, she served as their Treasurer for several years before taking on the Ohio Kentucky Chapter Treasurer role for 3+ years all the while taking active steps to evolve her design career as well.

Katie joined the Vocon (Cleveland, OH) team where she was able to bring her experience to the firm in furniture design and specification, crossing over several different studio groups serving as the subject matter expert. Shortly after transitioning to the world of corporate facilities for FirstEnergy (Akron, OH) as a Facility Designer she also stepped into the role of President of her beloved Ohio Kentucky Chapter, leading five very spirited City Centers for the 2014 calendar year.

Most recently, Hauser has joined the Interface team serving NE Ohio as an Account Executive and enthusiastically brings top notch product, service and sustainability initiatives from Interface to her local customer base.

During her tenure with both the Cleveland Akron City Center and the Ohio Kentucky Chapter, she has lead financial reform efforts, brought attention to the importance of strategic planning on the Chapter level, planned many a Product Runway fashion show events with her colleagues, lent helping hands to the Canton Akron Foodbank, and is a continued supporter of both Cleveland and Akron’s annual Zerolandfill programs while participating in Cleveland AIA’s Mentorship Program with emerging professionals.

In June 2016, Katie was recognized at the IIDA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL as the IIDA Member of the Year.

Bret Recor

An expert in bringing designs from concept to reality, Bret is committed to watertight execution, to shepherding a creative vision to its most brilliant realization. To do this, he balances the creative vision with real-world experience of industrial design, fabrication, and integrated branding. Bret has applied his expertise to the launches of several high-profile products and initiatives, including Jawbone, One Laptop Per Child, Nebia, and most recently HiLo for Knoll. This past year Bret has also launched a separate venture, Fadestudio, with a flagship product the Fade task light.

Prior to founding Box Clever and Fadestudio, Bret was a design director at fuseproject. Bret has worked with clients ranging from consumer goods giants to government agencies, among them, Johnson & Johnson, Herman Miller, and the New York City Department of Health. His work has earned awards, Index, Spark, IDSA, iF, and Red Dot. His work is part of the permanent collections of NY MoMA, SFMOMA, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Centre Pompidou.

 

Roby

 

Roby Isaac

Roby Isaac has been named director of design for both carpet and hard surface. He will be responsible for product development and execution of product strategy.

Isaac brings expertise in design, manufacturing and customer interactions to the role. He started his career with a decade in carpet design, including management positions with Milliken, Tandus and Monterey. For the past three years, he has worked for Mannington as creative manager of commercial hard surface, instrumental in the launch of products in the homogeneous and heterogeneous sheet, inlaid, VCT, and LVT categories.

Isaac holds a degree in textile design from Philadelphia College of Textiles, Philadelphia University.He will be responsible for product development and execution of product strategy.
